Niko drove up from Arizona to drop off his Speedster for a complete restoration. This rare Speedster came in with a hardtop, Coupe/Cabriolet style front seats, and Coupe/Cabriolet style rear seats. He decided on doing his interior in our 304 red vinyl and the carpet in our oatmeal German square weave. We began with some repairs to the dash. Once repairs were done, we installed a new wood eyebrow and a new dash metal. Once installed, it was finally time to recover it in the 304 red vinyl. We also had to fabricate a new rear cowl metal, because when the car came in it did not have the metal. Carpeting was installed as well as the rear seat. The rear seat bottom had to be fabricated than recovered. There were minor repairs that had to be done before the convertible top could be worked on. New rivets had to be manufactured and installed on the frame in order for the frame to function properly. Once fixed, the frame was sent out to get sand blasted and painted. Finally the frame is ready for a new convertible top. Our top specialist began by installing the bow wrapping kit. Shortly followed by the actual convertible top, made in the black/tan sonnendeck. The Speedster came with a hardtop, so a new headliner was installed on the hardtop. The hardtop gets a headliner in a material similar to that of Coupe. With the installation of the front seats and a last minute inspection, the Speedster was all done and ready to go.
